Profit-sharing system and gain-sharing system were introduced from Great Britain and US by some economists interested in social policy. They were H. Katsuta, S. Miura, Y. Itoi, H. Matsuzaki and S. Kawazu. Kawazu argued for profit sharing system,and Matsuzaki against. Another stream of scientific management movement was shop management (or factory management) system. Soon after the first shop management book by a Japanese engineer (Koichi Kanda) was published in1912, Economics of efficiency by Norris A. Brisco (1914) was translated into Japanese. While Kanda\u0027s book was based on his experience and studies as an engineer, Brisco\u0027s Japanese translation version covered a comprehensive approach and knowledge of scientific factory management. In Japan the two books gave a great influence on the development of factory management thereafter. Two more remarkable books appeared in the same period, which launched a dissent from Taylor System and scientific management. Tunesaburo. Suzuki\u0027s Labor movement and Paternalism (1915) and Practice of Factory Management (1916) were the success story of his paternalistic management practices. He asserted that workers can achieve miraculous efficiency only when executives stand on paternalistic management and managerial familism. Paternalistic management-workers relationship and hearty, cozy relationship is the most important,while scientific management is not. Third stream was industrial psychology and labor science. Yoichi Ueno, K. Suzuki, H. Takamine and K. Sano were the pioneer of the fields. H. Munsterberg\u0027s Psychology and industrial efficiency (1913) was translated into Japanese, and had a profound effects on the development of the fields.
