Methods: A literature review of health, \nhygiene, and sports since the Meiji Era was conducted. Results: Before the Meiji period, \nhealth was an individual matter, but during the Meiji period, government-led training \nand group activities for health promotion were enforced. In the postwar period, health \npromotion became individual-oriented, and awareness was promoted through healthcare \nmanuals prepared by the government in line with international trends and the social \ncontext. Challenge: Current health goals are lacking in inclusiveness and diversity. It is \ntherefore necessary to build a healthcare ecosystem that is inclusive and diverse, where \npeople recognize each other’s health requirements based on their individual characteristics \nand life stages.
