This is why fandom comes into being. Capitalistic societies exist on this human tendency. In Internet Age, fandom becomes more important for business. Present business must be armed with intellectual property rights, especially copyright, trademark, and so on. Some right-holders make authorized fan clubs in order to secure lawful profits from obedient fans, while active, independent fans would often gather themselves, and organize their own fan clubs to use freely the beloved characters and logos, legally copyright and trademark. which belong to the right-owners. Some of right holders would bully strongly their own fans organized into unauthorized fan clubs. But, they have to think about their profit structure. Not little money used to come from such fans. Industrially used intellectual property rights should only protect a prominent position of right-owners in a competitive market, whose legal rights used to be gained through massive endeavor, investment and history. Their fandom has been greatly contributing to their prosperity.
