My hypothesis is that simple family households were the dominant type in the city of Dublin from the perspective of nuclear family system, but most migratory people in Dublin had the ethos of stem family latently and formed the extended family households and multiple family households at a rate that is very close to neighboring counties, for example Co. Meath. As the result of above analyzing we had the following conclusion. The families in Dublin, the \"simple family household\" proved more effective as a family strategy, than a more complex form based on the stem family. Meanwhile, families in the city of Dublin also included a considerable number of kin migrating from rural areas. For these migratory families to lead a happy life in an urban area, adaptation to the norms of urban family was more effective than maintaining the norms of rural family. In other words, while a simple family household may have been based on the nuclear family system. The normative ethos of the rural family continued to be found in some aspects of family structure in the city of Dublin.
