 note = {This study presents the historical overview of Japanese psychiatric social workers and the development of the professions in Japan. The author maintains that certified social workers should focus on psychosocial model and ecological approach for clients who use mental health services. However, certified social workers are trained in the certification system which more strongly emphasizes the medical model.
