内容記述 This thesis is an analysis of the Aesop fable "Eagle and Beetle" that is found in the comedy of Aristophanes and a comparative Aesop fable in the work known as "Text G". "Text G" is the oldest among Aesop's biographies [Data-1 Aesop's Fables collections historical route diagram: (7)] and gives the most information on his life. "Eagle and Beetle" is taken from the main fable told by Aesop in his last moments. "Mouse and Frog", however, has lingered, and "Eagle and Beetle" has faded out. As for "Text G", "Eagle and Beetle" is more important than "Mouse and Frog". Because in "Mouse and Frog" Aesop met a tragic end unexpectedly. But in "Eagle and Beetle" a culmination of factors which were Apollon's envy, Isis's favor, his meritorious deed, and so on doomed Aesop to die at Delphi. "Eagle and Beetle" seemed to be better known to ancient greeks than "Mouse and Frog". Aristophanes often used Aesop fables in his works. Especially "Eagle and Beetle" in particular can be found in "Wasp", "Peace" and "Lysistrata". Aesop fables used in the Aristophanes works are in very short lines. Ancient greeks, however, recognized that the short line allusions were quoted from Aesop's fables. In other words, the fable was very popular among ancient greeks. The way fables are used in Aristophanes works is very different from the way they are used "Text G". Aristophanes didn't take notice of the meaning of the fable, only showed the characters exaggeratingly on presupposing that the entire already audience knew the fable. "Fable" is the metaphor implying a moral and satire. In Aristophanes works they are parodied, and changed to something that can be laughed at. Aristophanes was active in 445-385 B. C. The age was almost the same the Peloponnisos war period. He longed for the peace of the good old days, always stood against the current of the times, as a conservative who opposed the tendency of new thought or Socrates's campaign for enlightement. He objectively watched the sign of the times, when the prowar party ran rampant, criticized demagogues, consistently fought in the cause of peace. For Aristophanes, Aesop Fables and "Eagle and Beetle" that have been in this thesis are the most suitable way to express the desire of peace.
