| 内容記述 | This paper is a sequel to my previous article on the artist Goya. In this paper I focus on risks related to "Modernity". Goya is often called "The Originator of Modernity." This expression is usually used to mean that Goya was the first to draw the popular masses. In this paper, however, I use the expression to mean that Goya portrayed Modernity as something that included various risks. Goya believed that people encountered risks in the modern age that they had not previously experienced. My contention is that Goya sought to portray those risks in two patterns that together encompass the nature of the modern age: one was in the form of gigantic people, rocks and so on; the other was through images of flying. In this paper, I introduce six works of Goya that portray risks related to Modernity. | |||||
